NEW DELHI: Seeking to take the battle to the Narendra Modi turf, Rahul Gandhi will visit Gujarat to hold intense interaction with Congress workers on October 3 and 4 to gear up the organisation ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress Vice President's visit to Gujarat is the first after Modi was anointed PM candidate by BJP.

Gandhi will be in Ahmedabad on October 3 and in Rajkot the next day, party General Secretary Gurudas Kamat said.

Kamat, who is in-charge of party affairs in Gujarat, said that on October 3 Gandhi will address a meeting of National Council of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), the students' wing of Congress.

He said that in his diverse interaction, Gandhi will be meeting current and former MPs and MLAs from various parts of the state as also elected representatives above Panchayat level.

Gandhi's visit is taking place at a time when the state party has launched aggressive agitation against the Modi government on the issue of corruption.
