Amethi: Amethi: BKU activists today staged protest against erratic power supply before a guesthouse where Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka continued their exercise to fill up various organisational posts on the second day of their visit.

Over 200 Bharat Kisan Union activists, led by district unit president Rita Singh, held a demonstration at the Munshiganj guesthouse and handed a memorandum to Gandhi's representative Chandrakant Dubey.

The protestors claimed that except for Amethi town, the other areas were getting only six to eight hours of power supply daily.

They claimed that in areas surrounding Anni Baijal village, there was a fault in the power line since the past four months and it was going without power.

The activists later dispersed on the assurance of Dubey that he would take action on the issue.

Meanwhile, Rahul and Priyanka remained busy since morning interviewing candidates for party posts in the organisation.
