Rahul named new Jawahar Bhavan Trust trustee

Rahul Gandhi has been made one of the trustees of the Jawahar Bhavan Trust (JBT).

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi has been made one of the trustees of the Jawahar Bhavan Trust (JBT), which is involved in philanthropic activities and distributes scholarships and awards in the name of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

The trust will also have two other new members -- AICC treasurer Motilal Vora and Union minister Mukul Wasnik. Senior Congress leaders Arjun Singh, Makhanlal Fotedar and Mohsina Kidwai have stepped down to make way for the new trustees.

Mr Vora becomes the new secretary of the trust in place of Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel. Mr Patel, will, however, continue to be a trustee.
