The car entered Bengal with the glass already broken...I condemn the attack. This is nothing but a drama," Mamata said.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said that the vehicle of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not attacked in West Bengal but in Bihar. Despite condemning the incident, she clarified that the attack occurred in Katihar, Bihar, and that the vehicle had already entered West Bengal with a broken rear window pane. During a public distribution programme, Banerjee received information about the alleged stoning of Rahul Gandhi's car and investigated the details, concluding that it was not an incident in Bengal. She criticized the incident as a mere drama.

"I got a message that Rahul Gandhi's car was pelted with stones. I checked what exactly happened and found that the incident occurred in Katihar, not in Bengal. The car entered Bengal with the glass already broken...I condemn the attack. This is nothing but a drama," Banerjee said.

The attack on the car, part of Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' to West Bengal's Malda district, involved unidentified individuals pelting stones, according to Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the state Congress chief. Despite the damage to the rear window pane, Rahul Gandhi remained unharmed.

Mamata Banerjee also speculated that the incident might be a manifestation of public anger in Bihar, following Nitish Kumar's JD(U) aligning with the BJP-led NDA after leaving the opposition bloc INDIA. She suggested that the resentment could be a result of Nitish Kumar's recent political moves.

"... Nitish (Kumar) has recently joined hands with they BJP, they may have some anger," the TMC supremo said. PTI SCH The car in which Rahul Gandhi was travelling in West Bengal's Malda district as part of 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' was pelted with stones by unidentified persons on Wednesday, claimed state party chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
