Rahul Gandhi’s supporters reducing him to 'factional leader': Sandeep Dikshit

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has slammed "pro-Rahul Gandhi" AICC secretaries, accusing the group of junior leaders of reducing the Gandhi scion to a "factional leader".

Dikshit criticized the group of Rahul supporters for being critical of party seniors. "This groupism is harming the party and they need not be right in criticizing the elders. Elders have strengthened the party. Some of these young leaders are regressive," Dikshit told a news channel.

Junior office-bearers had earlier criticized senior leaders and extracted an advisory from the party that apprised office-bearers across the country about their sentiment, that critical statements by senior leaders were hurting the party.

After its poor show in the general elections, several leaders, young and old, had publicly hit out at Rahul's team, while a few were critical of the general secretaries.
