Rahul Gandhi's rallies in UP's Jaunpur and Bahraich on Dec 19 and Dec 23 respectively

NEW DELHI: Congress Party’s Vice President Rahul Gandhi will address rallies in UP’s Jaunpur and Bahraich on December 19 and December 23 respectively. Rahul’s rallies are part of a campaign which his party has decided to launch against the centre’s demonetisation drive.

Congress’ decision to select Jaunpur and Bahraich for Rahul's rally is considered to be politically significant. Jaunpur is adjacent to PM Narendra Modi’s constituency- Varanasi. Two days back back, PM Modi had addressed a rally in Bahraich by phone after his helicopter could not land at the venue due to weather problems.

On Wednesday, all functionaries of Youth Congress’ East Zone held a meeting at the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee’s office in Lucknow and discussed strategies to ensure the success of Rahul Gandhi’s proposed rally in Jaunpur.
