Rahul Gandhi disqualification: Clear case of anti-democratic attitude of BJP, says Congress
BJP on Friday welcomed the disqualification of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said that it is as per the law. “Rahul Gandhi has been convicted in a defamation case and sentenced to two years jail. As per the law, conviction leads to disqualification from Parliament membership,” Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan told media persons.

“The Congress party, especially Rahul Gandhi’s family, wants a separate IPC (Indian Penal Code) for him. Under this IPC, he shouldn’t be convicted. They want a separate judiciary for him. However, they fail to understand that in a democracy the law is equal for all.”

Pradhan said that the Congress has been using abusive language against PM Modi and the back ward community of the country. “There is a difference between abuse and criticism. At a public meeting in 2018, Rahul Gandhi has used an abusive word for PM Modi, using his surname,” he added. “The Surat court judgement on this proves that no one is above the law and the democratic system of the country.” “From calling him ‘Maut ka Saudagar’ to ‘neech’, the Congress has always been at it,” he added.

Union minister Anurag Thakur called Rahul Gandhi a loose cannon and raised questions on Rahul’s track record as an MP. “Rahul Gandhi is a habitual loose cannon. He thinks he can say anything without facing any consequences. He had said, “Unfortunately, I am an MP.” So, ultimately, he has been relieved as an MP. Besides, the people of Wayanad have got rid of him,” Thakur said while addressing the media with Pradhan.
