Rahul Gandhi was trying to 'incite violence' in UP by spreading 'misinformation' and 'provoking' people, BJP has said. Gandhi had on Wednesday gone to Lakhimpur Kheri to meet the family members of farmers killed on Sunday.

Gandhi has nothing to do with rights of farmers and was only trying to make political capital out of the Kheri incident, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said. "Congress party has nothing to do with the welfare of farmers, traders or any other community. It is only concerned about the well-being of one family. The Congress ship is sinking. Rahul Gandhi is only trying to salvage the standing of his family and make political gains. He is only spreading misinformation and endangering peace," Patra said.

Gandhi was 'synonymous' with 'irresponsibility', Patra said. The Kheri issue had been resolved with an agreement between farmers and the state government but the Congress was trying to 'fan violence' in UP, he alleged. As long as a probe is on, nobody should make any irresponsible statements, he said. "The bunch of lies spread by Gandhi is condemnable and unfortunate," Patra said.

Gandhi does not have faith in any constitutional body, be it the EC or the SC or EVMs or laws passed by Parliament or even the media, Patra said.
