AHMEDABAD: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi plans to interact with party workers ahead of Lok Sabha elections to bridge the gap between them and party leaders.

Rahul would connect with Congress party workers across India through a Google Hangout live video chat session between 11 am and 12 pm on March 15, an official statement said. In a letter sent to all city and district Congress offices, Congress general secretary Ajay Maken asked respective office bearers to arrange infrastructure for the session.

"Party workers and leaders of local party units rarely get an opportunity to directly interact with Rahul Gandhi. This is an opportunity for party workers to interact and ask questions," the letter said. The first one hour session on March 15, is meant exclusively for party workers. "Later on, Rahul will also conduct similar sessions with local office bearers and leaders," Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Manish Doshi said.

To participate in the live chat with Rahul, party workers have been asked to post their questions on the Congress Intranet website at Khidkee.com, after which final participants would be selected after analysing and selecting questions from the whole lot.

Maken's letter has asked all Congress units to arrange a hall which could accommodate atleast 200 party workers. Through a large LCD screen connected with a computer with an internet connection, workers would be able to see Rahul and ask questions in real time. The live session between Rahul and party workers would be webcast on Khidkee.com and then uploaded to YouTube.
