Rahul Gandhi seeks Adani's arrest in India over indictment in US
Rahul Gandhi called for Gautam Adani's arrest in India following his indictment in the US on charges of corruption and fraud. Gandhi questioned why Adani remains free despite US investigations finding him culpable in a significant scam. He alleged...

While Gandhi didn't elaborate on the Indian legal provisions under which Adani could be arrested here for his indictment in the US, he referred to recent arrests of some chief ministers belonging to opposition parties and alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi was protecting the industrialist.
"It is now pretty clear and established in America that Mr Adani has broken both American law and Indian law. He has been indicted in the US. I am wondering why he is still a free man in this country. The American investigations have found him culpable in a Rs 2,000 crore scam. He should be arrested immediately," Gandhi said at a press conference at the Congress headquarters here.
Securities and Exchange Board of India chairperson Madhabi Buch, whom he accused of "protecting" Adani, should also be probed, Gandhi demanded.
On states being named by the US prosecutors, Gandhi said: "Wherever this has happened, be it any government, there should be an investigation. But investigation must start with Adani ... I am telling you then the name of Narendra Modi will also come out. Because the entire funding structure of the BJP is in the hands of this person. Because of that, even if the PM wants, nothing will happen."
On whether Congress-ruled states would review business with the Adani Group, Gandhi said: "One is criminality and corruption. The second is due process. If Adani and Ambani are working through due process, then we have no problem."
