Rahul Gandhi rejects Ajay Maken and PC Chacko's resignation

NEW DELHI: A day after Delhi PCC chief Ajay Maken "offered" his resignation following the party's poor show in Delhi Municipal Corporations elections, Congress vice President Rahul Gandhi "rejected" Maken's resignation on Thursday night and asked him to carry on, party sources said.

Gandhi is also learnt to have rejected the "offer of resignation" by AICC in-charge of Delhi Congress P C Chacko as well.

In the Congress circles Maken's "offer of resignation" on Wednesday was seen more as his way of trying to stem the tiding criticism of him by his inner-party rivals led by former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, started soon after the MCD results were out.
