Modi, who has been attacked over the 2002 post-Godhra riots said he felt "liberated and at peace" in the wake of the clean chit given to him.

NEW DELHI: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today parried questions on Narendra Modi's comments that he had felt "pain" and "anguish" over the 2002 Gujarat riots.

"The issue here is about building a framework against corruption. Let's not confuse the issue here," he said at a press conference when asked to comment on Modi's statement.

Coming out perhaps for the first time, the Gujarat Chief Minister, who has been often attacked over the 2002 post-Godhra riots today said he felt "liberated and at peace" in the wake of the clean chit given by a local court to him.

In a blog, Modi said that came out with a long statement in a blog saying he was "shaken to the core".
