Gandhi was referring to the Prime Minister's “silence” on the Rafale fighter aircraft deal with France and the Modi government's “failure” to bring fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya to book.

Rajasthan: We're interested in your 'Mann ki Baat', not our 'Mann ki Baat', says Rahul Gandhi
SAGWARA: Sharpening his attack on PM Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday questioned Modi's silence on Rafale 'scam', the flight of businessmen facing money laundering charges and demonetisation fiasco.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls himself the country's watchman. But the Indian masses have started saying, “gali gali mein shore hai, desh ka chawkidaar chor hai (there is noise in lanes that the watchman is a thief)," said Gandhi in Dungarpur while addressing a rally.

“I went to the prime minister's office. I have gone there only once so far. I asked Modiji, you have waived off `1.3 lakh crore debt of 16 industrialists. Please waive off loans of 2 crore farmers of UP who have filled the forms of debt waiver. But he didn’t say anything,” Rahul alleged.

He said that Narendra Modi preferred launching Bullet train over the development of the railways which is carrier of the common man. “The complete budget for Railways is Rs 1.5 lakh cr while the cost of bringing bullet train is Rs 1 lakh crore which is meant for only 5000-7000 rich people."
