'Not LoP but Leader of 'paryatan' and 'party': BJP leader slams Rahul Gandhi

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla took a fresh jibe at Rahul Gandhi on Monday, saying that the Congress leader has changed the meaning of LoP.

"Rahul Gandhi has changed the meaning of LoP from Leader of Opposition to Leader of 'paryatan' and Leader of party," Poonawalla said.

At a time when the country is in grief over the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi has left for 'paryatan' and party, the BJP leader said citing media reports.

Rahul Gandhi and 'paryatan' is nothing new, Poonawala further said.

Rahul Gandhi was partying all night when the 26/11 attack was unfolding in Mumbai, Poonawala alleged. Now, he is not concerned about the demise of Dr Manmohan Singh as well, he added.

Other BJP leaders also slammed Rahul Gandhi for flying to Vietnam to ring in the New Year "while the country is mourning Manmohan Singh's demise".

"While the country is mourning Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's demise, Rahul Gandhi has flown to Vietnam to ring in the new year," BJP's IT cell head Amit Malviya wrote on X.
