As Bittu walked past the protesting Congress MPs, Rahul Gandhi was heard calling him a “traitor”, saying, “Here is a traitor walking right by. Look at the face…”
Rahul Gandhi then extended his hand towards the Union minister and said, “Hello brother, my traitor friend. Don’t worry, you will come back (to Congress).”
Bittu refused to shake hands and was seen responding sharply, uttering “Desh ke dushman…” as the two leaders briefly exchanged words before moving away.
On Wednesday, the Lok Sabha was adjourned amid heavy sloganeering by Opposition members over the suspension of eight MPs a day earlier during the Budget Session. The House is set to resume at 12 pm.
The suspended MPs were seen protesting outside Parliament, holding placards that read “PM is compromised.” Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has made similar allegations while speaking to the media on the India–US trade agreement.
