With Gandhi back, the Congress leadership is trying to catch up with the election-related issues, especially finalisation of party candidates.

NEW DELHI: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is back in Delhi from his over a week long foreign trip.

With Gandhi back, the Congress leadership is trying to catch up with the election-related issues, especially finalisation of party candidates, which had been awaiting party vice President's return.

By Tuesday afternoon Gandhi has been holding meetings with senior leadership including PCC President Captain Amarinder Singh to finalise the pending 40 party candidates for the state Assembly polls. The meeting is also expected to take a call on cricketer-turbed-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu fighting the election in a Congress ticket.

Party president Sonia Gandhi and her daughter Priyanka Vadhra are also part of the meeting.
