Rahul Gandhi attacks PM Narendra Modi on Kirti Azad's suspension from BJP
NEW DELHI: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi led his party’s attack on PM Modi over the suspension of BJP MP Kirti Azad who has been leading a campaign against finance minister Arun Jaitley on the alleged corruption in the Delhi cricket body.

Gandhi reminded Modi of his poll slogan ‘Na Khaunga Na Khane Dunga’ and asked the PM to walk the talk and not shoot the messenger. "During election campaign, Modi spoke about scams and said he would not allow corruption. But now scams are taking place and the latest is the cricket scam, and the MP who raised it has been suspended (from the BJP)," Gandhi said on his way back to Delhi after a two-day visit to Amethi.

Gandhi said: "Modi used to say ‘Na Khaunga Na Khane Dunga’ (will not engage in corruption myself, nor will allow others). But today he is silent. People have started losing faith." Gandhi said Modi should take action and conduct inquiry into the affairs of the Delhi and District Cricket Association of which Jaitley was the president for 13 years till 2013.

The Congress pointed out that it was not an issue of legality but morality. "What we see here is shooting down the messenger," said Congress spokesman Ashwani Kumar.
