NEW DELHI: Continuing with his interaction exercise with AICC office bearers, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi today called for streamlining communication and coordination in the party and underlined the need to end factionalism and put up a united fight in coming elections.

"Go to the grass roots," was his message to the partymen at the second interaction with the AICC members here during which he also made it clear that "organisation was his priority".

Calling for regular meetings of the party at all levels and the need to coordinate the "talent in abundance" in the party, Rahul underlined the need to put up a united fight in the elections in the backdrop of reports of factionalism in a number of states like Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.

"Rahul Gandhi said that organisation was his priority. What is most urgent is how to strengthen the party first. For this the meetings of different units of the party should happen regularly from the AICC to the district level and the AICC general secretaries, secretaries and the in-charges of states should take care of it," AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi told reporters after the meeting.

Sources said that Rahul stressed in the meeting that there should be no communication gap and underlined the need for complete coordination between AICC general secretaries and secretaries and AICC office-bearers and the PCC saying if there is any issue, it should be resolved by by consultations.

During the previous meetings Rahul held, there were complaints galore that general secretaries ignore secretaries in the allocation of work and there is absence of coordinated approach between states and central leaders at the AICC.
