Radhey Lal Rawat still a party candidate: BSP

BSP termed as false and baseless reports that the party has denied ticket to its sitting MLA Radhey Lal Rawat, who had allegedly tried to commit suicide yesterday.

LUCKNOW: BSP today termed as false and baseless reports that the party has denied ticket to its sitting MLA Radhey Lal Rawat, who had allegedly tried to commit suicide yesterday.

The reports to this effect are misleading and baseless. He is still the party candidate, State Unit President Swami Prasad Maurya said in a statement here.

"Rawat had food poisoning following which he was admitted to a hospital. His condition is now improving," Maurya said.

Allegedly upset over denial of ticket, the sitting BSP MLA from Hasangaj seat in Unnao yesterday tried to commit suicide by consuming poison.

According to reports, Rawat, who was given a ticket by the BSP from Mohan seat was upset after J P Rawat was given ticket in his place recently.
