Rabri takes it to new low, abuses Nitish
Rabri Devi went 'abusive' to train her guns at Nitish Kumar.
On Saturday, Rabri Devi while addressing an election meeting in Saran district went abusive to train her guns at chief minister Nitish Kumar. The use of provocative language which many feel has crossed all limits of civility and public decency has left the ruling NDA seething in anger.
Hitting out at the state JD(U) president and the chief minister, Rabri Devi said everyone knew what kind of relations they shared between them. Lallan Singh is the sala( brother-in-law) of Nitish Kumar and Nitish is also the sala of Lallan Singh. They can be seen holding each others hands publicly. I will keep on saying this again and again, Rabri Devi said at the election meeting. She was also unsparing in her criticism of the countrys judiciary and media.
Piqued by her abusive remarks, the chief minister said such things do not behove of a leader who was the chief minister of the state for over seven years. No wonder, he said, Bihar suffered during her rule. I think all this is a manifestation of her frustration. It also speaks of her mental bankruptcy. Anyway, the NDA is looking what can be done in this connection, Mr Kumar said stressing that such remarks were actually not worth reacting.
Coming hard on Rabri Devi, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said she does not know the A-B-C of politics and Lalu was actually using her in the name of woman. She does not know what she is speaking and what impact it will create. I will urge Lalu to withdraw her from politics and send her back to kitchen, remarked Mr Modi.
An angry JD(U) has, however, decided to seek legal consultation for filing a defamation suit against the former chief minister. It has also petitioned the Election Commission for initiating action against her.
She thinks she can get away with anything she says from a public platform. She has to be restrained, otherwise she can be a threat to social amity and peace, said JD(U) spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari. In the past too, Rabri Devi has courted controversies for her provocative words. At one point of time, she had the temerity to take on the then Governor of Bihar Sunder Singh Bhandari by calling him langra (lame).
