Questions on NRHM scam still remain unanswered: Salman Khurshid
NEW DELHI: Law Minister Salman Khurshid today said several questions over the alleged rural health mission scam in Uttar Pradesh remained unanswered despited CBI filing a closure report on the death of the deputy chief medical officer Y S Sachan.

"This conclusion probably puts the issue to rest, if it is accepted by the court," Khurshid told reporters when asked about the CBI stating in its closure report that evidence in Sachan's death pointed to suicide.

Sachan, the former deputy Chief Medical Officer of Lucknow, was found dead in a jail toilet in 2011. He was accused of the involvement in the murder of two former CMOs in connection with the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam.

Khurshid said the questions on the NRHM scam still remained unanswered and would continue to be probed.

"It does not put to rest many questions that were raised on what was happening in NRHM scam. Those will obviously continue to be probed," the Law Minister said.

He said the CBI report, filed in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, would be scrutinised by the court and it would be improper for him to comment on it.
