Quake hits Nicobar Islands

NEW DELHI: A moderate intensity earthquake hit parts of the Nicobar Islands early this morning.

The quake measured 5.9 on the Richter scale. It shook parts of Nicobar Islands at 0508 IST, a Met official said.

However, no loss of life or property was reported immediately, he said, adding no tsunami warning was issued.
