Punjab polls: Akali-BJP all set to win
Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal said his father Parkash Singh Badal would be the next chief minister.
In Punjab, Congress nominees were leading in Nakodar (Amarjit Singh Samra 671 votes), Guru Har Sahai (Gurmit Singh 4,655 votes), Balachaur (Santosh Kumari 4,076 votes) Anandpur Sahab (Romesh Dutt Sharma 388 votes) and Punjgrain (Joginder Singh 2,135 votes).
Punjab Congress President Shamsher Singh Dullo was trailing by 1,392 votes behind Bikramjit Singh of SAD from Khanna assembly constituency. Dullo had got the seat in place of his wife, Harband Kaur, who was the sitting legislator.
Former SGPC President Jagir Kaur was leading (SAD) was leading by 1,167 votes over her nearest rival Sukhpal Singh of the Congress from the Bholath assembly constituency in Kapurthala district.
A senior SAD leader Kanwaljit Singh, who is also party General Secretary and former Finance Minister was leading by 9125 votes from the Banur assembly constituency in Mohali district.
SAD nominees were leading in Nihalsingh Wala, Lohian, Fatehgarh, Sultanpur, Bagha Purana, Samana, and Morinda constituencies.
Two BJP nominees Surjit Kumar and Swarna Ram were leading from Fazilka and Phagwara assembly constituencies.
