All government offices, boards, corporations and educational institutions will remain closed on February 25 in view of civic elections in the state.

CHANDIGARH: All government offices, boards, corporations and educational institutions will remain closed on February 25 in view of civic elections in the state.

Polls to 123 Municipal Councils and one ward of Nagar Panchayat Bariwala will be held on February 25. This holiday has been declared under Negotiable Instrument Act 1881, a state government spokesperson said.

He said the government servants, who are registered as voters in any of the above mentioned municipal councils and performing duty outside that area, will be granted special leave to cast their ballot after verification of documents.

The leave will not be deducted from their leave record.
