In a shocking incident, the mother-in-law of Punjab's officiating advocate general Rupinder Khosla was raped and murdered at her house in posh Sector 21 of the city.

CHANDIGARH: In a shocking incident, the mother-in-law of Punjab's officiating advocate general Rupinder Khosla was raped and murdered at her house in posh Sector 21 of the city.

According to initial investigations, the crime was committed two days ago.

The incident has sent shockwaves and anger across the city raising serious questions on the deteriorating law and order situation.

The police have cordoned off the house and are searching it for more details.

The news of this horrific rape and murder came even as residents of Burail area of the city were out on the streets accusing city police of inaction in another incident of crime.

On Wednesday, the body of a 5-year-old boy Khushpreet Singh, kidnapped a fortnight ago, was found in a bag in Mohali.
