Pune Municipal Corporation elections: MNS springs a surprise

The Raj Thackeray-led MNS today sprung a surprise by wresting 20 out of 88 seats of Pune Municipal Corporations for which results were declared.

PUNE: The Raj Thackeray-led MNS today sprung a surprise by wresting 20 out of 88 seats of Pune Municipal Corporations for which results were declared, and coming second to the front-runner NCP.

NCP has bagged 31 seats in the 152-member house so far. MNS, which has substantially improved upon its tally of 7 in the last house, has left Congress and BJP behind, who have won 15 and 13 seats respectively as per the results by 3 pm.
