Pulwama martyr’s father wants son shifted to Punjab police
Satpal has pleaded that his son be appointed as a Deputy SP in Punjab Police as he meets all the required parameters.

Satpal has requested that Lakhvish be posted in Punjab so that he can stay close to him. “This kind gesture of the Punjab government would help me in this old age as I am sick and it will help me overcome this trauma and helplessness,” the father has stated in his letter, referring to the martyrdom of Maninder.
“I am living alone as my wife died nine years ago. The presence of my son in Punjab would definitely give me a fresh lease of life. Such timely, affirmative action and support would go a long way in motivating parents in sending their wards for the service of the nation,” Satpal, who retired from the Punjab Roadways as a traffic manager, has written. He has pleaded that his son be appointed as a Deputy SP in Punjab Police as he meets all the required parameters.
“We have not got a reply to our letters yet,” Satpal told ET. Lakhvish, who was on leave, has now left for Assam to rejoin duty. Satpal said he had pleaded for Lakhvish’s transfer as the state government had promised a government job to the next of kin of his martyred son Maninder, who was unmarried. The family has received Rs 55 lakh as compensation from the Centre. However, they have only received Rs 5 lakh so far out of the Rs 12 lakh promised by the Punjab government.
