PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry Chief Minister N.Rangasamy turned 65 today.

His cabinet colleagues and legislators greeted him on the occasion.

Local Administration Minister N G Panneerselvam and Welfare Minister P.Rajavelu offered prayers to the presiding deity at the Manakula Vinayakar temple seeking blessings of the Lord for the well-being of Rangasamy.

Special poojas and other rituals were held in temples and other places of religious worship.

Delegates of various organisations, freedom fighters and representatives of different wings of the ruling AINRC were seen making a beeline to Rangasamy's house in neighbouring Delarshpet to greet him.

Massive banners, cutouts and placards greeting Rangasamy on his birthday have been put up at various places by his supporters.

Volunteers of the All India N R Congress (AINRC) from various villages was seen riding two-wheelers holding party flags and raising slogans in praise of the Chief Minister.
