Provide relief to flood and drought-hit people: BJP Karnataka chief Prahlad Joshi

MANGALORE: BJP State President Prahlad Joshi today urged the Karnataka state government to provide relief to the people of the flood and drought hit districts of Northern Karnataka.

In a statement here, he said the natural calamities in recent days had destroyed crops covering an area of over 2 lakh hectares. Over 10,000 houses had also collapsed in various incidents in the north districts of the state.

The Government had not taken any steps even after a huge damage was caused to people and property and had not convened a meeting of the Natural Calamity Committee in such a situation, he alleged.
