Protest continues over alleged Manipur fake encounter
Protest continues in Manipur over an alleged fake encounter. Several other organizations have started joining the protest.
Curfew continues in Imphal. The state has been on a boil since last week over the alleged fake encounter of Chungkham Sanjit by police commandos on July 23.
The mother of Sanjit has lodged a formal complaint with the police. In her complaint, she claimed that her son was innocent and had gone to purchase medicine when he was killed. She also asked the police authorities to furnish the names of six police commandos who were suspended.
Protest continued in several areas of the state. Police had to tear gas and fire rubber bullets to quell protestors. On Thursday, 10 protestors were injured during clashes between police and protestors.
