Proposal to allot land to RML not cleared due to shortcomings

A proposal to allot three plots of land for the expansion of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital could not be cleared due to certain shortcomings in the plan.

NEW DELHI: A proposal to allot three plots of land for the expansion of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital could not be cleared due to certain shortcomings in the plan, the Urban Development Ministry said today.

"A proposal has been received from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for allotment of additional land of three plots to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi," Minister of state in the UD Ministry Sougata Roy said while replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

"Five correspondences have been entered into so far between the ministries. The proposal was considered by the Land Allotment Screening Committee (LASC) on April 20, 2012. However, the proposal could not be sanctioned die to certain shortcomings in the proposal," Roy added.

Roy, however, added that the Hospital authorities had been requested to submit a comprehensive proposal, keeping in view their exact requirements.
