AIZAWL: Mizoram government would be able to provide 24-hour water supply to the people of Aizawl city after completion of the new water supply project, state Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Minister Zodintluanga today said.

Tender was being floated for the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded water supply project to supplement the existing Greater Aizawl Water Supply Scheme Phase - I and II, Zodintluanga told PTI.

"After completion of the project, those having water connection in Aizawl would be able to have water in their pipes all the time," Zodintluanga said.

The Rs 173 crore water supply project, scheduled to be completed by January 2018 would have the capacity to discharge 37 million litre of water per day, he said.
