Prohibitory orders issued to maintain peace on December 6

The order shall be in force from 0600 hours on December 5 to 0600 hours on December 8, according to an official release issued here today.

HYDERABAD: Prohibitory orders have been issued by the police, in connection with the anniversary of the demolition of the disputed structure ( Babri Masjid) at Ayodhya, for three days, beginning from December 5.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma said the police had reliable information that certain groups would try to create disturbances affecting public peace and order in the city in order to incite communal animosity between different communities on December 6.

Hence, to maintain public order, peace and tranquillity in the city, the Hyderabad police chief has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code prohibiting demonstrations, processions, rallies and public meetings which are likely to create religious animosity or hatred between different communities or individuals or disturb public peace.

The order shall be in force from 0600 hours on December 5 to 0600 hours on December 8, according to an official release issued here today.

The city police has already launched extensive checking of vehicles and frisking of people in different parts of the city.
