Probe to find if phones were tapped during Fadnavis regime

Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil on Tuesday ordered the probe after Nana Patole who currently heads the Maharashtra Congress said that his and other BJP as well as Congress and NCP leaders phones were tapped during 2016-2017.

On Tuesday Patole claimed that several phones including his were tapped by the Fadnavis government and demanded a probe saying that it was done illegally.
The Maharashtra government has on Tuesday ordered another probe in to whether the then Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra tapped the phones of its own party MP’s and other leaders. Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil on Tuesday ordered the probe after Nana Patole who currently heads the Maharashtra Congress said that his and other BJP as well as Congress and NCP leaders phones were tapped during 2016-2017.

Patole was a BJP MP till 2017 before he quit and joined the Congress. On Tuesday Patole claimed that several phones including his were tapped by the Fadnavis government and demanded a probe saying that it was done illegally. “ Wrong names were given to tap phones. In my case my phone was tapped by assigning Amjad Khan to my name. Why was this being done, needs to be probed,” demanded Patole.
