KS Sivakumar, relative of Jayalalithaa's VK Sasikala who also functioned as the former chief minister's personal doctor and medical coordinator, has submitted an audio recording of the AIADMK leader's conversation with a doctor in hospital.

He also submitted before the Justice A Arumughasamy Judicial Commission of Enquiry hand-written papers of the health chart she followed months ahead of her hospitalisation.

According to Sivakumar's submissions today, the audio was recorded at the behest of Jayalalithaa on September 27, 2016, the day she held a marathon meet at the hospital with the state's top bureaucracy and lawyers on the Cauvery litigation at the Supreme Court.

In the audio made available to the press today, the former chief converses with a doctor even as a blood pressure reading is taken. The doctor terms it "high" with systolic and diastolic values at 140/80. Jayalalithaa responds: “It is okay for me; normal."

The health chart suggests Jayalalithaa had subsisted on Idli, breads, coffee, green tea and buscuits.

Sources within the judicial commission said KS Sivakumar when questioned by one of the Commission's lawyers if Jayalalithaa's body weight would have reduced drastically had she followed her own diet chart, the doctored responded in the affirmative. This is significant as Jayalalithaa weighed 105 kg on the day she was admitted in hospital and 102 kg on December 4, 2016, when she had had a massive cardiac arrest, according to the discharge summary of Jayalalithaa recorded by Apollo Hospitals.

According to Raja Senthoor Pandian, the legal counsellor for VK Sasikala, the release of the audio proves "beyond doubt" that Jayalalithaa was "conscious and aware of what is going on around her," corroborating with the submissions of the affidavit filed Sasikala.

It functions as a fact finding body and is expected to submit a report with the Government on its findings.
