SRINAGAR: Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umer Farooq threatened of a massive agitation across the state led by the unified pro-freedom leadership, against government’s proposal to built Sainik colonies, townships for pandits and industrial policy.

The pro-freedom leadership, Mirwaiz said, would never allow anti-Muslim designs of RSS to fructify in Muslim majority J&K, which he referred to as ‘inseparable part of the Muslim world.’

Mirwaiz was addressing Friday congregation at historical Jama Masjid in old city in which around one lakh people participated. Syed Ali Geelani, continues to be under house arrest, while Yasin Malik, also addressed a Friday congregation at Chara-e-Sharief, reiterating his stand of freedom for people of J&K.

The divisive policies of the state government and New Delhi and the war cry against Pakistan, Mirwaiz said was a ‘cheap tactic to retain power at the cost of the future of whole subcontinent.’ The pro-freedom leadership has also demanded immediate ban on liquor in the state, terming it as ‘mother of all evils.’

J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, alluding to Mirwaiz, had recently criticized the clergy for selectively raising political issues on Fridays.
