Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, was on a two-day visit to poll-bound Assam and was seen plucking tea leaves with estate workers at Sadhuru tea garden in Biswanath district.

Dressed in traditional 'mekhla chador', the 49-year-old had a basket on her back balanced by a band on her head. She was also armoured with an apron at her waist as she took on the job of plucking tea leaves.

Learning it up!
Exuding sisterly love and warmth, Priyanka, after finding it difficult to put the tea leaves and buds into the basket, was told how to do it and she began dexterously tossing them over her head and into the receptacle. 'Chai', the world's favourite morning brew, has been part of the electoral discourse in Assam, with even Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi peppering their speeches with its flavour.

Tea tribe
