New Delhi: AICC general secretary Priyanka Vadra on Friday criticised a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW) for her comments about the victim of the alleged gangrape case in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun.

Responding to the NCW member wondering why the victim had gone out alone in the evening, Vadra asked whether women’s safety could be ensured with such outlook. "“Will we be able to ensure women’s safety with this behaviour? Members of the Women’s Commission are blaming the victim for the rape. The Budaun administration is concerned about who leaked the post-mortem result of the victim,” Vadra wrote on Facebook in Hindi.

Meanwhile, some Congress MPs from Punjab, who have been on dharna in Delhi demanding scrapping of the farms laws, held a meeting with Vadra. Some of these MPs later said Vadra and they reiterated their resolve to carry on with the agitation.
