LUCKNOW: The war of words between the top brass of the BJP and the Congress over Amethi refuses to die down, with Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday questioning Smriti Irani over the IIIT institute proposed in Amethi.

Gandhi, who is visiting her mother Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s constituency Rae Bareli, while responding to media questions said: “She (Irani) is the education minister. She should inform why the IIIT project is not moving forward.” When asked to comment on the food park issue in Amethi, Priyanka said that she was not aware of the latest position.

However, Irani, who was touring West Bengal, reacted to Priyanka’s jibe by saying “I think she is not aware of the reality. There is an off site campus of the IIIT-Allahabad already there in Amethi. This is perhaps for the first time that a winning candidate is asking the loosing candidate to develop the area, despite having ruled for several years.”
