Amid reports that the Centre was considering a privilege motion against Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, sources told ANI that the government does not plan to move such a motion. This comes a day after the LoP raised multiple allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers related to Epstein files and slammed the recently concluded US-India trade deal during his speech in the Budget Session of Parliament.

However, portions of his speech delivered in the House on Wednesday are likely to be expunged, as the allegations he raised were not authenticated, ANI sources said.

On being about a privilege motion being brought against him, LoP, Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi asked reporters whether 'privilege motion' was the keyword of the day.

Following Gandhi's scathing attack on the government on Wednesday, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey told reporters that he has moved a substantive motion in Lok Sabha against the opposition leader and requested termination of his membership.

" I have moved a motion in Lok Sabha today against Rahul Gandhi on how he is misleading the nation with the help of forces like Soros, who want to harm the nation. In the motion I have moved, I have requested that Rahul Gandhi's membership should be terminated and he should be barred for life from contesting elections," he told reporters.

Speaking to PTI videos in Parliament House complex, Dubey said that in his notice he has stated how Gandhi visits foreign countries joining hands with the Soros Foundation, USAID, Ford Foundation and "colludes" with anti-India elements.

Upset with Gandhi's remarks in Parliament, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that a privilege motion should be brought against Rahul Gandhi.

"There is no bigger liar than Rahul Gandhi in the country...He wants to start civil war in the country...He lies in the temple of truth," he told ANI.

As a counter to LoP's statements on US trade deal, he said, "Under PM Modi, farmers can never face injustice. When the Agriculture Minister and Commerce Minister are assuring the same, then what is it that you have on whose basis you are spreading misinformation? Privilege motion should be brought against him (Rahul Gandhi)."
