Prime Minister Narendra Modi today condoled the death of BJP MP Dileep Singh Bhuria, saying the party had lost a veteran political leader.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today condoled the death of BJP MP Dileep Singh Bhuria, saying the party had lost a veteran political leader who did immense work for tribals.

"My thoughts are with the family of Shri Bhuria during this hour of grief. May his soul rest in peace," Modi said.

"In the passing away of Shri Dileep Singh Bhuria, we have lost a veteran political leader who did immense work for tribal communities," he said in his condolence message.

The Prime Minister said Bhuria had years of legislative experience, both in Madhya Pradesh and at the national level, which was his major asset.

Bhuria, a member of Lok Sabha from Ratlam-Jhabua seat in Madhya Pradesh, passed away today at a hospital in Gurgaon after a brief illness, family sources said. The tribal leader was 71.
