Prime Minister Narendra Modi acted as the middleman of Anil Ambani, did treason: Rahul Gandhi
"This is treason. He is doing what spies do. He gave the secret to Anil Ambai 10 days before the deal," Rahul said.
Ambani's knowledge of a defence deal under preparation, which even the then defence minister had said he was not aware of, is in violation of the Official Secrets Act, Gandhi alleged at a press conference, and said this "puts Modi in jail".
"This is treason. Narendra Modi is doing what spies do. He is informing somebody of a defence matter. He is under oath to protect these secrets," Rahul alleged.
"How come Anil Ambani knew about the deal 10 days prior to the signing of Rafale deal," he asked.
"Only Prime Minister can answer this question as he was the only to be aware of this deal as neither the defence ministry, nor HAL knew anything about the deal," he said.
"Airbus executive wrote that Anil Ambani met the French Defence Minister and told him 10 days before the Rafale deal was signed that he was going to get it," Rahul said.

The Congress president also rejected the Comptroller and Auditor General report on the Rafale deal, and dubbed it "Chowkidar Auditor General" report.
"It is Narendra Modi’s report, written for the Chowkidar, on behalf of the Chowkidar, for the Chowkidar by the Chowkidar," he said.
