Prez poll: Ajit Singh supports Patil

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh on Thrusday signed a set of nomination papers of the UPA-Left Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil as a proposer.
Singh signed the papers when Union Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi called on him at his residence this morning, party sources said.
After BSP supremo Mayawati, who signed a set of nomination papers of Patil on Wednesday, Singh is the next significant leader to have signed the papers, boosting the prospects of Patil.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi had earlier singed the nomination papers of Patil.
