Previous Congress government never worked for development of Barak Valley: Sarbananda Sonowal

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the previous Congress government never worked for the development of Barak Valley and as a result the region remained under-developed.

Sonowal attended a rally organised on the side lines of filing of nominations by seven candidates of the BJP and its allies in Cachar.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said that under the BJP government, Barak Valley has witnessed a new paradigm of development in Barak. The previous Congress government never worked for the development of Barak Valley and as a result the region remained under-developed. However, under the present BJP government there has been a turnaround as the people of Barak Valley witnessed overall development on all sectors.


He also said that the present BJP led government moved by Prime Minister’s Sabka Ka Sath Sabka Biswas and Sabka Viswas mantra, fulfilled the aspirations of the people of Barak Valley. He also said that as a result of the development narratives promoted by the BJP government in the Barak Valley, the people of the valley have decided to bring back BJP to power for the second time.

Sonowal also attended nomination filing for Sipajhar constituency candidate of BJP, Dr. Paramananda Rajbongshi.

Sonowal said that the BJP led government came to power in the year 2016 with some promises as the government was successful in fulfilling its promises which led to the betterment of the lives of the people. Therefore, faith of the people have increased manifold on the government.
