Presidential poll: Jharkhand BJP appeals allies to vote for P A Sangma

RANCHI: The Jharkhand unit of the BJP today appealed all its ruling allies in the Arjun Munda-led state government to support former Lok Sabha speaker P A Sangma in the Presidential election.

"We appeal to all our constituents JMM, Ajsu party and Janata Dal (U) to vote for the NDA candidate", BJP's state unit spokesman Pradip Sinha said here.

Sinha's appeal comes in the wake of UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee calling up Ajsu party chief and Deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Mahto yesterday to seek support for him in the Presidential election.

Earlier in the day, BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said her party would support P A Sangma for the Presidential poll.
