Presidential nominees to visit Northeast

GUWAHATI: Presidential nominees of NDA and UPA will visit Northeast states to garner support. NDA nominee Kovind will visit on July 6. Kovind is expected to get huge support from BJP- ruled Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur.

People’s Party of Arunachal has also decided to support Kovind. In Assam, BJP’s coalition partner Asom Gana Parishad and Bodoland Peoples Front have pledged their support to Kovind. Ruling Naga People’s Front of Nagaland has also extended support to Kovind. UPA nominee Meira Kumar will meet Congress MLAs and MPs in Shillong on July 5. On the same day, she will interact with Congress MLAs and MPs from Assam, Arunachal, Mizoram, Manipur and Sikkim in Guwahati. All India United Democratic Front will also support Kumar.
