President Pranab Mukherjee to address U'khand Assembly on May 18

Dehradun: President Pranab Mukherjee will address the Uttarakhand Assembly here on May 18 as the state convenes a special two-day session beginning on that day.

The two-day special session will be held on May 18 and 19, a state government release said here.

In a meeting with senior administration and police officials, state Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal today asked them to tighten security arrangements in view of the President's address on May 18, the release said.

Earlier, the President was slated to visit the state on April 24 but the programme was called off due his other engagements, it said.
