President Pranab Mukherjee sings praises for PM Narendra Modi
President Pranab Mukherjee today pointed out that "Political stability" is an important requisite for other countries coming forward to invest here."

"Right Now, Various countries are considering India as an important investment destination. Political stability followed by a large number of important initiatives taken by the new government in form of Clean India, Clean Ganga, Digital India are opening new vistas in development and bringing technology," said Mukherjee. The President was today addressing the 185th anniversary of Calcutta Chamber of Commerce.
He further added," Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is currently visiting the country and he had a very fruitful discussion with Indian Prime Minister and his colleagues. Japan is one of the largest contributor to the development projects here." This visit of Japanese Prime Minister and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's visit to Japan in September 2014 has led to a strategic global partnership between India and Japa, added President Mukherjee.
Maintaining that it was possible to achieve an 8 per cent GDP growth, he said, "Already the World Bank report on India indicates a 7.2 per cent growth in 2014-15. In 2015-16, growth will be more. And very soon we will achieve 8 per cent GDP growth which is not beyond our reach". Praising the "new manufacturing policy", he said that the policy appears to increase the share of manufacturing to around 20-25 per cent; up from the existing 15 per cent.
