NEW DELHI: Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, who called on President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi here, said today that she was asked to continue to address social problems.

"He (the President) presented me (Sinha) a copy of the constitution. I asked him what should I do for the benefit of the society."

"To this, he said, 'You are a literary figure. Writers, painters are all artists. They all are sensitive. They always do something good for the society,'" a statement issued by the Governor said.

Sinha, who took the charge of the state on August 31 also met Modi yesterday.

"The Prime Minister was also happy meeting me. He said Governor is an active post and one should continue doing something to address social problems," the statement added.
