President Pranab Mukherjee pays homage to Satya Sai Baba

PUTTAPARTHI: President Pranab Mukherjee paid obeisance to Satya Sai Baba at his samadhi here in Andhra Pradesh.

The President visited Prasanthi Nilayam, the spiritual leader's main ashram where his samadhi is located, after attending the valedictory function of the centenary celebrations of former President Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy at Anantapur.

Mukherjee was welcomed by Satya Sai Trust members Ratnakar and Chakravarthi. They explained the trust's welfare activities after the demise of the Baba in 2011.

Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Major Industries Ministers J Geeta Reddy accompanied the President.

After visiting Puttaparthi, Mukherjee left for Rashtrapati Nilayam (President's official retreat) at Bolarum in Hyderabad.
